   Clinical Intern

Ben is completing his practicum and internship with Fluvanna Family Counseling in his final year at Liberty University's Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. He was raised in Farmville as a lifelong Virginian and attended Longwood University, majoring in Political Science and Spanish, in which he is fluent. Ben has experience in sales and fundraising, having spent over a decade in real estate and auctioneering before deciding to pursue service as a mental health clinician. As an intensive-in-home clinician, he has experienced success in preventing out-of-home placement for children and adolescents while fostering the restoration of compromised family relationships.

Ben is developing his skills in utilizing aspects of CBT, play therapy, and integration of existential therapeutic exploration to engage clients in using their own inherent strengths to initiate positive change. Viewing his clients as unique individuals with a story to be told and personality to be understood instead of a problem to be fixed, Ben is looking forward to working with you as a partner in your journey.
